Have you ever wondered how fancy twists in metal are made? Come to the Metal Club to see the new forging unit that creates these interesting objects. Club member Larry Mann was instrumental in the recent club purchase of this machine. Propane tanks fuel the forge unit so that metal items can be heated to shape and form as needed. The sides of the unit open to allow long pieces of metal to heat in the forge. Items that require blacksmithing and long knife edges for specialty projects can be made with this unit. The new forge is a great addition to all the metal-related machines and equipment available at the Metal Club.
If you're interested in learning more about a wide variety of metal-related equipment, or making metal artwork, stop by the club located at 13849 W. Camino Del Sol for a tour and to meet club members. No prior experience is required; multiple classes are available. The club is open Mon - Fri from 8am - 4pm; weekends from Noon to 4pm. Call the club with questions at (623) 584-0150 or visit www.scwmetalclub.com for more information.
