Dave reviewed the list of nominations for the 2023/2024 Board. He asked for any new nominations from the floor, none responded. A motion was made to accept the list of nominations and close the nomination period by Mike Bell (#978), seconded by Terry Hurst (#2678), motion carried. Election will be held at the March 9th General Meeting.
Dave reviewed his PowerPoint presentation which included a status update on the plasma machines, petition filed by members regarding the outdoor placement of the grinding tables, a detailed review of the operation of the new Ellis Horizontal Band Saw, and various equipment operating use errors, housekeeping tips and general club updates.
The old horizontal band saw will be available for members to bid on until February 16th at 4 p.m. – clipboard on Monitor Desk.
A question was raised by Tom Grilli (#598) regarding the club mark-up and incorrect price listed in the Materials Book versus the actual price in the QuickBooks screen when paying for metal. It was confirmed that the club uses a 20% mark-up on metal to cover club costs. The price of metal has fluctuated so much recently that the most accurate price is listed in QuickBooks. It was recommended to remove the price in the Material Book and confirm the current price by having the Monitor look up the price in the system.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 11:30 a.m. by Jack Lazareck (#1754), seconded by Norm Kelln (#452), all were in favor.
