General Membership Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by President Dave Price at 10:30a.m.– 63 members were present.

A motion to approve the Nov. 9, 2023, minutes was made by Mike Bell #978, seconded by Vince Crelley #1259. Motion carried.

In Joe’s absence, Dave reported the club’s finances in the checking and money market accounts.

Dave presented a Powerpoint overview of shop and equipment updates. Key points included:

2024 dues renewal period will begin January 1^st. Members are encouraged to pay dues online, or in person at the club.
See Shannon Morgan to display metal project work at the RH Johnson Library.
Two monitors are required to staff each 4-hour shift during the week. The Monitor Calendar has been modified to write-in names to cover these shifts.
Volunteer opportunities continue to exist in Orientation Training, Monitors, IT support, and various maintenance activities for the club.
Several pieces of equipment and miscellaneous improvements throughout the club were reviewed.
Nominations for club board positions will begin in January, nominations from the floor in February, and election in March. Dave described the duties for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Director’s position duties will be reviewed at the January meeting. Four volunteers are requested to count votes at the March meeting. See Dave or Wendi if you are interested.
The Metal Club members donated food items to the St. Mary’s Food Bank and toys that were picked up by the local fire department – thank you to the members who supported these holiday events.
Thanks to our Social Committee for holiday cocoa and treats provided at the meeting today. The Chili Cook-off Luncheon will take place on February 15, 2024, more info to come.

A motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:55am was made by Mike Bell #978, seconded by Ed Gallardo #964, all were in favor.
