Meeting called to order by President Dave Price at 10:30a.m.– quorum of (49 members) attained; 77 members were present.
A motion to approve the March 10, 2022, minutes was made by Ken Ruck (#1450), seconded by Dick Howden (#108). Motion carried. Minutes are available on the club website.
Joe reviewed the club’s finances and membership figures. Renewals for 2023 dues & lockers will begin on Nov. 1, 2022. Merchant One will be our new online payment vendor.
Dave recapped the Board changes involving the resignation of James Chitwood as President on Oct. 9, 2022. Dave, formerly 1st Vice President, became President per club bylaws. The Board nominated Gary Konop, formerly 2nd Vice President, to serve the remainder of the 1st Vice President term. A voice acclamation vote was conducted, all were in favor. A Candidate Nomination form will be posted at the club until Nov. 9th for 2nd VP position; members will vote on this position at the Nov. 10th General Membership Meeting.
Wendi reviewed the proposed changes to the club bylaws. A summary of the changes along with the newly formatted club bylaws will be available on the club website and posted on the club bulletin board. Members will vote on these changes at the Nov. 10th General Membership Meeting.
Dave shared that the Agriculture Group is asking for handcrafted items for their holiday party – see Wendi if you are interested in this request.
The wood band saw in the annex has a new wall-mounted dust collection system.
Alan reviewed the Metal Stock Order form and Special Order - Metal form; current steel market pricing is very volatile.
Gary reminded members to write maintenance requests on the clipboard near the monitor desk.
Lee will review the requirements and equipment to offer a Spray Painting class for members.
Members are encouraged to volunteer as Monitors (see Terry Griffith) and Class Instructors (see Dave or Wendi).
The powder coating station is close to being operational once the Rec Center completes electrical work for the unit.
A member requested new chairs at the computer stations. It was agreed to replace the chairs.
A committee of plasma cutters is working with the Board to research options for the Laguna machine. More info will be shared as work progresses.
A Club Expo will be held for new residents of SCW on Nov. 9th; members interested in representing the club, see Wendi.
A member complimented the club on the new annex facility which is a significant improvement for all club members.
Terry Griffith #1675 made a motion to adjourn the meeting seconded by Dudley Gibson #400; adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
