Meeting called to order 11:40a.m. by President Lee Schwartz following Rec Center Officer Training presented by Kasey Huhta. Present: Rod Flack, Joe Faraone, Mike Czaiko, Tim ‘Sarge’ Raddatz, Pat Frantz, Patti Czaiko, Larry Mann, Wendi Boos.
Approval of Minutes: Larry made a motion, seconded by Rod to approve the March 14, 2025, minutes - all were in favor.
Treasurer’s Report: Mike provided a recap of club finances. A discussion regarding mailbox unit production costs took place to gain a better understanding of overall club costs. Mike/Sarge will research mailbox costs to present at the Board meeting on May 2nd.
Plasma Cutting Policy Review: Lee reviewed a suggestion from Dave Price to have members who use the Plasma cutting machines sign an agreement to assist with machine maintenance tasks. The maintenance functions performed by a core group of members are working well, however, cleaning the machines and daily upkeep is lacking. Patti suggested implementing an agreement signed by members who become certified on the machines that would stress the importance of proper machine procedures, daily cleaning duties after machine use, proper sign-up sheet procedure (i.e., not passing the key to another member without signing the sign-up sheet, 4-hour max cutting time per member, etc.). A checklist could also be developed to ensure consistency among plasma instructors. Sarge suggested reviewing these plasma machine items at the upcoming Monitor meeting.
Outside Back Wall Issue: An unacceptable situation has developed along the outside back wall of the building. Several tool carts, projects in-process, metal and material have been improperly stored in this area. The area needs to be clear for power company access; only rolling tool carts that are properly identified are allowed in this area. An email will be sent to all members notifying them to clear out this area by April 30, 2025; the club will dispose of items after this date.
Agenda for General Meeting on April 10th:
Roundtable: Joe stated the transition to the General Purchasing area is going well; Larry would like members to review proper welding procedures and thanked Norm Muzzy and Bill Riedel for teaching and certifying members in the welding area; Mike is moving forward with online bill payment for the club; Sarge asks members to not throw away non-working grinders that could possibly be repaired; Pat suggested a Summer BBQ like we did last year; Wendi reported that classes are winding down and thanked instructors who helped with the backlog earlier in the season.
Motion to adjourn made by Rod, seconded by Pat. The meeting adjourned at 12:25pm.
