Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Ken W., seconded by Ken B. to approve Feb. 9 Meeting Minutes - all were in favor.
Treasurer’s Report: Joe provided a recap of club finances which includes payment of all club bills to date.
Safety Manual Review: The Safety Committee revised the Safety Manual wording for eye protection as directed by the Board at our last meeting. Lee made a motion, seconded by Ken B., to approve the revised Safety Manual and to forward it to the membership for their approval at the next General Meeting on March 21st. All were in favor.
Annex Man Door Project: Dave reviewed the draft CR-13 form, diagram of the location of the proposed door, and justification letter for the Board’s review to install a man door in the annex area. The club has authorized $7K remaining from the Building Contingency Fund ($30K approved by the membership in May 2021) for this project. After discussion, all were in favor of pursuing this project. However, it was agreed to hold on proceeding until after the upcoming Rec Center Governing Board elections so that we can work with the newly elected board members.
Board Member Transitions: Board members were asked to meet with their respective new board members to review the Metal Club Officer Manuals and other transition items. The Posse Contact list and CR-5 forms were reviewed and updated.
General Updates: Dave gave an update on the following items:
Roundtable: Ken W. suggested sliding the steel rack to the south by 3’ to 4’ so that the 12’ flat stock can be safely stored and to prevent members from stockpiling their metal sheets along the wall.
Joe would like to work with the new Board members to establish budgets for each purchasing department area; a Purchase Order system for better communication between the purchasing directors and accounting area; and more consistent use of club accounts and credit cards rather than reimbursement through personal credit cards.
Randy Mekus has offered to oversee maintenance schedules for all machines in the Annex area. Maintenance requirements for the air compressor were also discussed.
Wendi gave an update on club Instruction Classes: Norm Muzzy has successfully provided training for the Welding MIG classes backlog so we are current with training needs; Randy Mekus has provided Plasma Cam / Blaze classes this year and has significantly reduced the backlog for this class; Toynette Rolston recently created an Intro to Metal Artwork class that has been very well received by club members.
